Terms of Service

Last updated October 21, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Flipside (“Flipside”, “we”) about using flipsideli.com. By using the site or joining, you agree to them, to our Community Guidelines, and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. Who can use Flipside

  • You must be at least 13 to join. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
  • One person per account. Don’t sign up for someone else or pretend to be anyone else.
  • You can’t use Flipside if we’ve suspended you before or the law doesn’t allow it.

2. Your account

You sign in with a link sent to your email (or with Google). Keep your email account secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.

3. What you post

  • You own what you post. By posting, you give Flipside a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, resize, display and share it on Flipside and in Flipside’s own channels (such as our social media pages) to run and promote the site. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared, backups kept for a limited time, and content we must keep for legal reasons.
  • Only post what you have the right to post: your own photos, or ones you have permission to use.
  • Follow the Community Guidelines. Pictures are reviewed before they go public, and we use automated tools and people to review posts and messages, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Guidelines, or that put people or Flipside at risk. If we remove something of yours, we’ll usually tell you why. You can ask us to take another look by contacting us.

4. Our car listings

  • Cars marked as Flipside’s are offered by Flipside. We describe each car, the reconditioning we did and what our inspection found as accurately as we can. An inspection report is a summary of what we checked and saw on that day; it is not a guarantee about the car’s condition or future performance.
  • Prices, availability and details can change, and a listing is not a binding offer. Offers and inquiries sent through the site don’t create a sale. A sale happens only through a written purchase agreement signed by you and us.
  • Any warranty is stated in that purchase agreement and as required by New York law (including the New York Used Car Lemon Law where it applies). Nothing on the site takes away rights the law gives you.
  • We encourage you to have any car inspected by a mechanic of your choice before you buy.

5. Between members

Flipside isn’t part of arrangements between members. Be careful: never send money, deposits or personal financial details through private messages. Report anything that looks like a scam.

6. Sponsored items, news and weather

Sponsored items are labeled “Sponsored”. A sponsored item isn’t an endorsement of anything outside Flipside. News headlines come from outside publishers and weather from the U.S. National Weather Service; we show them as-is and aren’t responsible for their content or accuracy. Links to other sites are governed by those sites’ own terms.

7. Paid profiles

Some features, such as hiding sponsored items and news, are for paid profiles. If we offer paid plans, the price, billing and cancellation terms will be shown before you pay, and those terms will apply in addition to these.

8. Things you must not do

  • Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
  • Post anything the Community Guidelines don’t allow.
  • Interfere with the site: no hacking, scraping or bulk collection, automated accounts, bypassing limits or safety features, or overloading our systems.
  • Collect other members’ personal information or use it outside Flipside without their consent.

9. Copyright

We respect copyright and respond to valid notices. See our Copyright (DMCA) page. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.

10. Flipside’s content

The Flipside name, logo, site design and our own photos and text belong to Flipside. You may share links to our pages, but don’t copy our content or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.

11. Ending your use

You can delete your account any time from Account settings. We may suspend or end access as described in section 3. Sections 3 (license for content already shared), 4, and 10 to 14 continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Disclaimers

Except for what we promise in a written purchase agreement or what the law requires, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or secure, and we aren’t responsible for what members post.

13. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Flipside isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, from your use of the site, and our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us for site features in the past 12 months. This doesn’t limit liability that can’t be limited by law, and it doesn’t change the terms of any car purchase agreement.

14. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims caused by your breaking these terms or the law.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above and, for important changes, let members know on the site before they take effect. If you keep using Flipside after that, the new terms apply. If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Questions? use our contact form.
