Community Guidelines
Last updated October 21, 2026
Flipside is for people who love cars: show off your ride, share projects and finds, ask questions, and talk to other enthusiasts. Members can be as young as 13, so keep it friendly and keep it clean.
Be a good neighbor
- Be respectful. Disagree about cars all you like, but not about people.
- Post things that are yours: your own photos, or ones you have permission to share.
- Be honest about cars: their condition, history and mileage.
- Use #hashtags and @mentions to connect, not to spam.
Not allowed anywhere on Flipside
This applies to posts, pictures, profiles and private messages.
- Sexual content involving minors, of any kind. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement.
- Nudity or sexual content.
- Violence or gore, threats, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others.
- Hate and harassment: attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age; hateful symbols; bullying; unwanted repeated contact.
- Private information: other people’s addresses, phone numbers, documents (licenses, registrations, titles), readable license plates that aren’t yours, or close-up faces of people who didn’t agree to be posted.
- Scams and fraud: fake listings, requests for deposits, wire transfers, gift cards or crypto, phishing links, or asking people to move a deal off Flipside to avoid our safety checks.
- Spam: ads, repeated posts, unrelated content, or mass @mentions.
- Impersonation of another person, business or Flipside staff.
- Someone else’s photos or work without permission.
- Misleading content about a vehicle’s condition, history or ownership.
Prohibited items
Don’t offer, sell, trade or promote any of these on Flipside:
- Stolen vehicles or parts, or vehicles without a clear right to sell them.
- Vehicles with hidden title problems (salvage, flood, rebuilt or lemon titles not disclosed) or tampered odometers.
- Devices that defeat emissions controls (“delete” kits, defeat tunes), radar or laser jammers, and anything else illegal to install or use on public roads in New York.
- Counterfeit or replica parts sold as genuine.
- Weapons, ammunition and explosives.
- Drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, tobacco and vaping products.
- Anything else that is illegal to sell in New York.
How reviews work
- Pictures are checked by a person before they go public. Until then, only you and Flipside staff can see them. If we can’t approve a picture, we delete it and tell you why on your profile editor.
- Posts and messages appear right away. Automated screening and member reports send anything worrying to a person at Flipside, who decides what happens. (More on this in the Privacy Policy.)
- Report anything that breaks these guidelines with the Report button on any post, picture, profile, listing or message. Reports are private.
- Block someone from their profile or a conversation: they can no longer message or follow you.
What happens if you break the rules
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, limit what you can do, or suspend your account. Serious violations (such as threats, exploitation of minors or fraud) lead to immediate suspension and may be reported to the authorities. If you think we got it wrong, use our contact form and we’ll take another look.
