Copyright (DMCA)

Last updated October 21, 2026

We respect the rights of photographers and other creators. If you believe something on Flipside uses your work without permission, tell our designated agent and we’ll act quickly under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Our designated agent

[to be added], Flipside[to be added]Email: [to be added]

This address is only for copyright notices. Other messages sent here won’t get a reply; please use the contact form instead.

To report an infringement

Send our agent a written notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works).
  2. The copyrighted work you believe was infringed (for example, a link to your original photo).
  3. The link to each item on Flipside you want removed, so we can find it (the post, picture or listing address).
  4. Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable the item and let the member who posted it know. We may share your notice (including your name) with that member so they can respond.

If your content was removed

If you believe it was removed by mistake or that you have the right to use it, you can send our agent a counter-notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The item that was removed and the link where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the item was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Flipside may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who reported the item. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the item 10 to 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice.

Repeat infringers and false claims

We close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe others’ copyrights. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make the sender liable for damages under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)), so if you aren’t sure whether something infringes, consider getting legal advice first.
